Note
Music tastes evolve constantly, especially after you play a song for days straight, loving everything about it until you eventually listen to it just one too many times and now your brain can't tolerate it anymore. As such, I've organised a list of tracks and musicians that I still love to this day. Musicians are for your traditional artists, while game and animated soundtracks consist of OSTs for their respective mediums. And below is my shrine to Gus Dapperton.
Antidote
Gus Dapperton
'I bite the hand that feeds the heart.'
I have a love for songs like this. Not necessarily a genre defined by a type of sound, but by emotional reaction.
When the song plays and you feel like crying, but no tears will come. A sound that is equally hopeful and yet depressing.
A timeless artist
I wish I recorded the statistics that spotify has for your 2025 wrapped. But sadly the best I have is the 'Your Top Songs 2025' playlist. Within the top 20 seconds of that playlist, Gus Dapperton appears 19 times. Antidote, Sunset, & Palms come up as the top 3. He is an artist that feels timeless to me, it doesn't matter how often I listen to his music I never feel the itch to skip or avoid it. I ended up in the top 0.01% of listeners for his music by the end of 2025 and I can already tell that 2026 is going to be no different.

A message for a lost friend
I sadly don't remember your name. But I remember that you were a kindred spirit. Someone going through it, stuck in the motions and in a state of stress. You were a kind, sweet, and funny person. You introduced me to Gus's music and it left a bigger impression on me than you probably know. I won't ever forget you, and I leave this here knowing you probably won't ever see it but still, Thank you.
