Note
This page will cover a version of Mari that is pure fiction. It's an artificial friendship involving Mari and a dragon named Kyu.
Their friendship isn't anything unique, but it is a dynamic that I really enjoy and I think works great for fun and dynamic art pieces.

Mari
The Reluctant Participant
Independent | Patient | Reactive
A rabbit with a guarded exterior
Mari comes across as someone who is often unimpressed with others.
He is someone who struggles with both distance and connection: craving solitude but forming bonds that are difficult to break.

The Stonewall
Mari is someone that values independence and often tries to keep others at arm's length. He doesn't do it because he dislikes company, but because he finds letting others in to be complicated.
He carries himself like someone who would rather be left alone, but deep down he does enjoy it when others engage with him and even push him to express himself.

The Dynamic
The two have a push and pull dynamic,
Mari spends his time trying to maintain boundaries, while Kyu spends his time trying to ignore them.
Kyu pushes forward while Mari pushes back, creating a rhythm that is engaging for both of them.
Kyu invades personal space, demands attention, and treats every complaint as encouragement.
While Mari protests nearly every interaction, insisting he wants to be left alone, yet rarely removes himself from the situation.

Kyu
The Forgotten King
Tease | Protector | Companion
A playful yet smug dragon.
Kyu enjoys pushing others around, he finds their reactions endlessly amusing and fun.
To him, toying with someone is a form of endearment, if he's picking on you, it's usually because he's fond of you.

The Icebreaker
Kyu is a large, intimidating dragon that is only terrifying up until he opens his mouth.
He spends most of his time just being reckless and playful rather than threatening.
He enjoys looming over Mari, teasing him, or just taking up his personal space.
He is a possessive dragon which often gets him in trouble for expressing it in ways that isn't healthy for himself or Mari.
To Kyu, attention is affection, and the people he likes most inevitably become the targets of his endless amusement.

Anchored Together
Kyu is a dragon with the fear of being forgotten and alone, it's his greatest vulnerability that he hides through his sharp teeth and loud personality.
Most come and go, but Mari offered him something different, consistency. Someone who stayed and remained present even when he pushed too hard or lingered too close.
Kyu's possessiveness and relentless teasing stems from that fear of returning to someone who would be forgotten, but with the dynamic he's found with Mari, such an idea fades into the background.
